Monthly Digest 006

This is a monthly recap of resources that have helped me become the best version of me!

A QUOTE I love --

"Don't compare your beginning to someone else's middle."

A BOOK I finished --

The 10x Rule by Grant Cardone // As long as you are alive, you will either live to accomplish your own goals or you will be used as a resource to accomplish someone else's! Right now your goals are probably not big enough and Grant explains the steps we have to take to make them a reality. After reading you will have the blueprint to prioritize your life goals and take action!

A PODCAST I listened to --

Vision Without Execution is Nothing (The Playbook with David Meltzer) // David brings on some of the world's greatest athletes, celebrities and entrepreneurs to talk about their personal and professional playbook to success. This week he brought on Robert Smith, CEO and Founder of FanHealth Network. Robert played football at Ohio State University and then spent 8 years in the NFL. He talks about his transition from competing at the highest level on the field to the challenges of operating in the entrepreneurial space.

A PLACE I RECENTLY TRAVELED to --

Location --> Richmond, Virginia

Reason --> Experienced my first film festival as my cousin's feature film debuted at RIFF!

Fun Fact --> Jamestown & Williamsburg were the capital city of VA before Richmond was!

A few ARTICLES you should read --

The NBA Expanding its Reach Globally // The NBA is at it again! The international growth of the brand over the past few years is pretty astounding. They just announced that teams area allowed to sell global marketing rights starting next season. Imagine being allowed to use the NBA logo or individual team marks for activation around the world? Complete game changer!

The Most Important Question of Your Life // Read this. Now! I think you will agree with me that we all want to be happy and successful in life. But many times those things are unrealistic or simply show a false reality of happiness. If you want the reward you have to be willing to go through the struggle! The ultimate question that you need to be asking yourself is, "What are you willing to sacrifice to get where you want to be?"

A SPEECH you should take notes on --

2011 Dartmouth Commencement Speech by Conan O'Brien // One of my favorite comedians here. I dare you to try and listen to this without laughing out loud. Conan does a brilliant job of making jokes to this graduating class while simultaneously giving some insight on why life isn't fair and how to carve your own path.

Like anything in life, I will continuously make changes and improvements to this newsletter! That will all depend on feedback I get from YOU! The purpose is to be able to share resources that bring you value. Hit me with feedback on any of the following:

  • Which resource above is your favorite?

  • What do you want more or less of?

  • How can I improve?

Send me a tweet (@Kevin_Tarca), shoot me a DM (@kevintarca) or simply respond to this email!

Have a wonderful month!
